2024 SEFA annual report

2024 marked a year of remarkable growth as we delivered on our commitment to amplifying impact and advancing a sustainable future for Africa. We surpassed funding targets, achieving a record USD 108 million in project approvals across 14 transformative projects, representing a near 50% increase year-over-year. Beyond financial targets, we successfully mobilised USD 43.8 million in additional resources while welcoming new donors to our mission of driving a just energy transition.

Key achievements
Our 2024 approvals included catalytic investments in equity funds targeting energy access businesses and concessional loans for utility-scale renewable power projects. These initiatives are projected to generate 840 MW of renewable energy capacity, deliver 1.5 million new electricity connections, and create over 176,000 new jobs.
